We have just received information that "Siska" - Bavaruki High Jinxs at Pagency - will be travelling to Poland shortly with Dianne and Alan of Pagency Leonbergers England.
This is a long awaited mating for Dianne and myself.

For the International Sopot Show we had the pleasure of hosting Sweedy's breeder Ruth Lintonsson and her family.
Ruth arrived with Knockando's QMP QUINCY RED (Champion of Sweden) and 9 month old Knockando's WINTHER IN SALINAS.
QUINCY was "Best in Breed" and Salina got "Best Junior".
It was a great day for Knockando's kennel where the three dogs who were entered achieved such great results!
I would like to thank Ruth very much for coming to Poland and of course for my "little" Sweedy.

First Aid Course
On the 27/09/2009, I attended a First Aid Course run by Dog Project and led by Dr. Pawel Łukuć a vetinary surgeon.
It was very interesting as we had a live patient, a lovely black and white Collie.
The topics covered were: road accidents, immobilising and proper carrying of injured dogs ,treating injuries, reanimation,bites, shock,diarrhoea,vomiting, choking and posioning. We were also shown how to correctly bandage a dog.
I now feel a lot more confident that I would be able to give a dog first aid if needed ( photos in Sweedys gallery).
Kindergarden for Puppies
On 19/09/2009 Sweedy started his socialization classes at kindergarden for puppies.
The course lasts six weeks (lessons are on weekends) dogs learn how to play correctly with other dogs and basic commands like sit, stay,lay and the call command.
There are three trainers belonging to the ADTP and the AABP.
We use the klicker method with training based on reinforcing by rewarding the dog for commands well done. A lot of attention is devoted to focusing the dogs attention on the owner. I convinced myself of the benefit of this especially in young puppies as they have a limited attention span.
We have a few breaks as a reward for work well done……then the puppies are allowed to play up and enjoy themselves ( photos in Sweedys gallery)!
